How to use it
- Add your .xlsx, .xls or .ods file.
- Pick the sheet from the menu next to the file, or check “Convert every sheet” to get one CSV per sheet in a ZIP.
- Choose comma or tab separated and download.
Questions
Which values end up in the CSV?
What Excel displays in each cell. A date shows as the date, a price keeps its currency format, and formulas give their last calculated result.
What is the UTF-8 marker?
A few invisible bytes at the start of the file that tell Excel the text is UTF-8, so “José” doesn't come back as “José”. Leave it on if the CSV will be opened in Excel; turn it off for systems that complain about it.
What about Excel files with several sheets?
When a workbook has more than one sheet, a menu appears next to the file so you can pick the sheet to use.
